Today’s OOTP comes from the Decadente bar and restaurant in Lisbon. It’s situated within the Independente Hostel and Suites – two fantastic, sprawling Art Deco buildings of dorms, private rooms and suites, all kitted out with vintage quirkiness and style.
This lovely little cocktail known as ‘Hectorade’ was served in the garden, one hot, sunny afternoon after we had walked up and down about 5,000 steps sightseeing – I should now have thighs that could crack walnuts. It was as much as I could do to not knock it back in one, to be quite honest. But I exercised some restraint and sipped it patiently. And I’m glad I did because it was lovely and worth savouring.
It comprised Setubal’s Moscatel, Ferreira dry white port, freshly squeezed lemon juice and fresh ginger, and finished with basil leaves. Deeeelicious……
